Blueberry muffins

With mass amounts of blueberries comes a variety of blueberry baked goods. Tonight I made some muffins from scratch. I even went all out and made a streusel topping.

Living away from home has definitely taught me how to cook. It's one of the humbling things about living here... I make many mistakes but I can't forget that I am learning everyday.

It's too bad Stefan has to go back to work, but at least I can send him off with a great breakfast.

Are those the newish silicon muffin liners or just really bright blue paper ones?

Amy...

They are the silicone ones. Muffin liners are so expensive here and a bit difficult to find so I brought them from the US.

Those look amazing! I contemplated silcone muffin wrappers, but didn't get them last time I was home. Do you prefer them over traditional paper?

I do like them because I feel like I am recycling and I never run out of them, plus they come in various shapes (I also have hearts and squares). You can also freeze them for little ice cream cakes or whatever else. I usually just put them in the dishwasher and that works fine.

I also read a lot about them in regards to health:

So far so good. If you get them I'd recommend doing the test they mention to make sure you're getting high quality silicone.

they are delicious! I used the recipe for blueberry muffin tops on the epicurious website and just cooked them a little bit longer.

I grew up with blueberry bushes in my back yard, which might have been cool except that I had to pick them all the time and we kept ALL of them for our family of five. I had so many blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, blueberry waffles, etc. and blueberry jam on absolutely everything that I went on blueberry strike for several years after I left home. It's been long enough I can finally enjoy blueberries again, and I can honestly say that your muffins look delicious!
