I always hate the last day of having guests. It is typically filled with running errands and buying last minute gifts, as well as dreading the following day when you have to say goodbye. Then there is always the let down after they leave and you are left behind thinking 'they were just here!'.
It also doesn't help when you have visitors that are simply happy to see new things and not really demanding - after all it's a vacation for them, so sleeping in or doing the things they are interested in is most important. Lauren was heading back to work and cherishing her last days of sleeping late and I was hoping for a decent Thursday tour group.
After lunch we headed to the Eisbach to watch the surfers. No matter how many times I have seen them I think it's really awesome that they can surf right in the middle of the city.
We definitely did a lot of great things during her trip. I am really appreciative to see familiar faces again and to explore new places together. Hopefully it's not too long before I get to see Lauren again and my other friends that I dearly miss!

That is so awesome that your friend was here. It looks like you two had a wonderful time. Having friends come visit is really a huge increase in life quality. Of course you will miss her, but you guys definately did some great things while she was here. You will have some great memories!
I saw the surfers too and I admire their courage to surf in the fast current.
I really wish we'd stay longer at the garden.
allison...
You're definitely right - and hopefully I'll have more visitors soon. It was such a great time.
bluefish...
I don't know how they get involved with surfing there either - maybe I should get a board and a wet suit. Maybe if you're around again you'll be able to relax a bit in the garden - it's hard to do everything in a short amount of time.
