Working Out

Today we joined the gym. I'm probably the last person that you would ever think would join a gym, but this is my year to get healthy and simply to feel good.

When we went on a tour of the gym last week we were told that Arnold Schwarzenegger had used a particular machine when he was in Munich, and Stefan joked 'So what is this like a museum?', because we didn't realize that this really was a gym he frequented. Later we saw signage and photos on the wall from the Governator about how much he loved training there.

Our personal trainer, Bruno, is setting up individual plans for us to help us work on our problem areas and achieve the results we're looking for.

The hardest part is being consistent, but I love how I feel afterwards, so I am going to try to remind myself of that. I even biked 8 miles in 30 minutes, which is pretty good considering I'm completely out of shape.

We've also tried to regularly visit the beautiful Muller'sches Volksbad for a swim. If you haven't been I'd highly recommend it. The pools are absolutely beautiful.

I have never been to Volksbad but i think i will try next week with a gf of mine. This week we will go to Nordbad first. I like it there coz there is a small outdoor heated pool. What's the name of that famous gym?

another Munich Emily blogger! #3! Maybe we should start the Munich Emily Blogger club.

I think Müllerisches Volksbad reminds me too much of a museum, myself. But it is the best for swimming laps in the winter if you want any room...

I need all the luck I can get! So far so good though - I know the start and keeping the motivation is half the battle.

You'll love the Volksbad - it's really pretty and relaxing. The gym is Stefan's. I don't know how famous it really is, but it's decent.

I didn't realize there were other Emily bloggers in the area- Funny! I read about the Volksbad before I ever moved here and I always thought it was gorgeous... it just took me a while to get there!
